2021 Skillogalee Trevarrick Shiraz

Dense inky black in colour with a deep dark purple black tinged hue. Lifted dark plum and liquorice scents are followed by vanillin cedar, hints of dusty earth, subtle mint and pepper notes. Rich and fleshy textured the mid weighted palate features dark plum and liquorice fruits over dusty vanillin cedar, traces of mint and pepper. Sturdy fine grained tannin structure with a muscular like yet deeply fruited finish.

From a dry-grown, 1960s-planted vineyard. Big, bold scents of dark chocolate, ripe cherry, raspberry coulis and hazelnuts. Nice start. Effortless in the palate despite some concentration and ripe fruit flavours. Touches of vanilla cream and cinnamon spice. Very even and flows beautifully through a long, sweet finish. Tannins are soft and grip gently through each sip. Well done, here. Drink by 2035.
