2021 Skillogalee Cabernet Sauvignon

A rich, concentrated Cabernet Sauvignon with a firm structure.

A blend of 97% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Malbec aged for up to 2 years in French oak hogsheads. Dense inky black colour with a deep dark red black hue. Nosing offers up ripe blackcurrant and mulberry scents trailed by some cedary tobacco, earthy black olive and bay leaf notes. Rich blackcurrant, liquorice and ripe mulberry fruits are framed by a firm tannin structure with notions of cigar box, earthy black olive and infusions of bay leaf extending across the back half. Excellent concentration and depth with a long, well fleshed yet robust finish.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.

A fragrant, plush and smooth number. Dark chocolate, ripe cherry, plum, truffle and minty elements on both the palate and bouquet. Oak seasoning seems gentle and settled, a lick of mocha and clove on the palate lending some gentle, additional depth. Very pleasing, easy-drinking style. Drink by 2030.
