2021 Samuel Billaud Bourgogne d'Or Chardonnay
Other Reviews....
An attractively floral nose speaks of pear liqueur and enough Chablis character to be persuasive. The delicious, succulent and rounded middleweight flavors possess unusually good volume for a wine at this level allied with fine punch that carries over to the refreshingly dry finish. This offers solid quality for its level in a package that should afford early drinkability. Drink through 2023+.

Allen Meadows - Burghound
Bottled three weeks prior to my visit, the 2021 Bourgogne d’Or has a pretty nose with lemon verbena and light apricot scents. The palate is fresh on the entry with fine acidity, quite sharp at the moment with bitter lemon on the finish. Fine. Drink 2023-2026.

Neal Martin - Vinous
A mix from the Auxerrois and Mâconnais, all vinified in tank, and bottled at the end May. Pale colour, with a light touch of sulphur after bottling, but a pretty and floral bouquet behind. Light and fresh with an attractive grapey quality. Tastes more Auxerrois than Mâconnais.
