2021 Robert Mondavi Private Selection Bourbon Barrel Aged Chardonnay - Last Stocks

In the style of Fat Bastard Chardonnay but showing greater concentration and depth, this rendition of Robert Mondavi Chardonnay sees a portion of the wine aged in American oak bourbon barrels for a period of 8 months to impart a rich, toasty flavour. It also undergoes malolactic fermentation to foster a full, creamy mouthfeel.

A classically styled Californian Chardonnay that’s rich, toasty and fat.

Brilliant pale straw colour with highlights of green around the edges and a watery hue. Elevated scents of ripe peach and honeycomb are intermeshed with toasty vanillin oak and spicy butterscotch like notes. Rich, concentrated and possessing a viscous mouth feel the palate is awash with luscious ripe peach, tropical fruit and honeycomb flavours which overlay a back drop of toasty vanillin oak and subtle butterscotch. Round and full it finishes spicy, long and creamy textured.
Drink over the next 2-3 years.
