2021 Ox Hardy Grenache

Includes 10% whole bunch fruit with maturation taking place in seasoned French oak for a period of 6 months. Red to dark red in colour with a bright red hue. Lifted dark raspberry and spiced cherry aromas emerge followed by some red liquorice, confectionary and pepper notes. Rich juicy dark raspberry and cherry fruits flood the mouth with notions of red liquorice, scorched earth and spicy pepper also chiming in. Velvety tannins finishing fresh and succulent.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.

Bright mid crimson in colour before launching into a beautifully bright and expressive modern Grenache style. It opens with vibrant aromas of red liquorice and cardamon spice with subtle earthy tones in the background. An almost pinot noir like palate follows that is fleshy with good fruit depth and power in a slinky, silky package before finishing with exceptional length. Delicious to enjoy now and over the next five years. Drink 2022-2028.

Excellent grenache. It has weight but it also feels crunchy, not to mention spicy. I love grenache with a bit of crackle to it. Raspberries, sand, roasted spices and dry, brittle leaves. Excellent tannin, firm and grapey. What this grenache is is serious and smashable, at once. Drink 2023-2028.
