Matured in French oak puncheons and hogsheads, with 18% new oak, for a period of 13 months. Dense midnight black heart with a deep dark red black tinged hue. Wafting from the glass with great authority are dark plum, liquorice and dark chocolate aromas which are interwoven with some vanillin cedar, earthy mocha and spice notes. Rich, silky and plush, unfolding across the expansive medium to full bodied palate are dark plum, liquorice, blackberry and dark chocolate flavours. Vanillin cedar, subtle earthy mocha and spice characters seamlessly integrate into the background. Understated in its power and opulently textured, it has velvet smooth tannins and a long classy finish that shows great refinement and polish.
