From a single vineyard planted in 1998 with Burgundian clone 777 this great value Pinot sees 6 months maturation in French oak. Dark red in colour with black tinged edges and a red hue. The nose possesses good perfumed lift with notions of violets, dark cherries, strawberries and anise followed by subtle forest floor and spicy cedar notes. Deliciously ripe dark cherry and strawberry fruits drive the palate with toasty oak, earth, anise and spicy wild herb characters lying underneath.
Good power with a supple mouthfeel and velvety tannins it finishes with ample length and richness for the price.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.
Alc. 14.5%

Other Reviews....
Bernard clone 777; the vines are bunch-thinned three times, the wine matured in French oak. Good colour; plum and black cherry fruits have a savoury/earthy bedrock that will repay cellaring for as long as you can keep your hands off it.
Drink to 2036.
