2021 Maxwell Four Roads Grenache

Dark red heart with black shaded edges and a red to dark red hue. Red raspberry and red liquorice aromas infused with fresh herbs drift from the glass followed by hints of graphite, black olive and pepper. Rich and succulent the mid weighted palate is flooded with sweet dark raspberry, ripe cherry and liquorice fruits. Vanillin spice, earth and subtle dried herb characters linger underneath. Velvet smooth tannins concluding long and luscious.
Drink over the next 2-3 years.

The basis for this excellent Grenache is a 90-year-old McLaren Vale vineyard planted on terraced rows. The vintage, which was one of the best in 20 years, really gave them something to play with. So beautifully weighted with the medium body showing the finesse to showcase this variety; red fruits with a lift of rose petal and a slightly savoury edge on the finish. A complete and thoroughly delicious wine. Drink 2023-2032.
