Matured for 9 months on lees in French oak barriques (37% new). Bright straw colour with a glimmer of green to the edges and a watery hue. Ripe pear and nectarine aromas lead the way with some dried honey, biscuity oak and spice notes also chiming in. Lightly creamed in its textural feel, fresh pear and nectarine fruits meld into dried honey, almond and biscuity oak characters on the back palate. Nicely balanced lemony acidity with a dry lingering finish.
Drink over the next 3-4 years.
Alc. 12.5%

Other Reviews…..
The 2021 vintage was a ripper in many parts, the Yarra Valley included. This Upper Yarra chardonnay will need time to really show its best but the components are certainly there. Apples and stone fruits, of the yellow variety, come laced with custard powder and cedarwood, the latter aspects tucked neatly within. It’s not a big chardonnay but it’s certainly well powered, and while cool acidity helps propel it out through the finish, you’d imagine that in time more flesh will be added to its current ‘line and length’ style. Sub $30 this is excellent buying, especially if you’re patient. Drink 2024-2030+
