2021 Lethbridge Le Droit
An elegant Merlot blend with a leafy, green edged and slightly bitter mid length finish.
A blend of 50% Merlot, 42% Cabernet Franc and 8% Cabernet Sauvignon matured for 18 months in super fine-grained new and one-year-old French oak. Totally opaque black dark red colour with a very dark red hue. Elevated dark to black currant aromas are intertwined with tomato leaf, herbal notes, tobacco, earthy black olive and spice. The elegant palate features red to dark currant, mulberry and tomato leaf flavours over a green, herbal back drop of tobacco, black olive and spicy earth. Fine grained tannins with a leafy, green edged and slightly bitter mid length finish.
Drink over the next 3-4 years.
Alc. 12.7%
Other Reviews…..
A blend of 50/42/8% merlot/cabernet franc/cabernet sauvignon; 50% new wood. A deep-ish ruby cabernet. Plummy with aromas of blackcurrant and fruitcake spices together with some olive tapenade and tomato leaf notes. Textured with ripe, velvet tannins, making for a wine that can either be drunk now or cellared in the short- to medium-term. Drink by 2032.
