Matured in predominately new and used French oak with some second use American oak also included. Impenetrable inky black heart with a very deep dark purple black hue. Heady ripe blackberry, dark plum and liquorice scents waft out of the glass trailed by vanillin oak, hints of mocha and pepper. Rich, opulent blackberry, dark plum and liquorice fruits are counterpointed by youthfully fresh acidity. Vanillin oak, subtle earthy mocha characters and pepper lie beneath. Polished yet sturdy tannin structure with a long, bright, deeply fruited finish.
Drink over the next 6-8 years.
