The Hahn family were amongst the original pioneers to the Barossa Valley and began growing grapes in 1845. In 1997 The Hahn’s formed a partnership with renowned winemaker Rolf Binder to produce the JJ Hahn range of wines and showcase their legacy of grape growing from old vine Barossa vineyards held in the family for generations.
Aged in a mixture of French and American oak barrels. Superb colour saturation with an impenetrable inky black core and a very deep black dark purple hue. Wafting from the glass are heady scents of dark plum, liquorice and blackberry which are melded to vanillin cedar, subtle choc mint and spicy earth notes. Rich, silky and layered with plush dark fruits the medium to full bodied palate marries opulence with refinement. Cascading across the mouth are succulent dark plum, blackberry and liquorice fruits which are underscored by elements of vanillin cedar, subtle earthy dark chocolate and spice. Cashmere like tannins with a long, sleek, deeply fruited finish.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
