A fresh and exuberantly spicy nose reflects notes of plum and various red berries along with herbal tea hints that include jasmine and orange peel. As is usually the case, there is good size, weight and richness to the caressing medium-bodied flavors that possess a velvety mid-plate along with excellent depth and persistence on the somewhat raspy and overtly austere finale that may be too much for some. I suspect that this mildly tangy effort will better harmonize with time in bottle. Drink through 2031+.

The 2021 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Suchots is one of the more reserved wines in the cellar this year, unwinding in the glass with notes of red berries, peonies, sweet spices and vine smoke. Medium to full-bodied, ample and lively, with powdery tannins and good tension, it will merit a bit of patience.

The 2021 Vosne-Romanée Les Suchots 1er Cru has a pure and quite sensual bouquet with more complexity and fruité than the Beaumonts. The palate is well balanced with fine acidity, taut and linear with a slightly candied and persistent finish. This is one of the best 2021s from Hudelot-Noëllat. Drink 2026-2045.

A fine brisk mid purple. Rather a darker leafier nose, along with some new oak. This is a little bit more backward, with deep fruit and some pepper, not quite ready to express itself. Drink from 2027-2033.
