This Riesling takes its name from a local landmark, Peggy’s Hill, at the top of the range between Eden Valley and Keyneton. Fruit is sourced from long term Henschke Eden Valley growers, whose vines are up to 50 years old, growing in low-vigour ancient Cambrian soils at around 500m altitude.
Brilliant water like core with a distinctive greenish tinge to the edges. Elevated lime juice, green apple and lemon scents have a talc overlay with some chalky mineral notes also evident. Racy and intense, zipping across the palate with fantastic drive are lime, green apple and citrus flavours. Chalky talc and flinty mineral characters sit in the background. Finishes dry and crisp with a long nervy aftertaste.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
Alc. 12%

Other Reviews.....
The blossom-filled bouquet surges instantly from the glass, citrus leading, apple tucked in close behind, the palate every bit as expressive. The crisp acidity provides the framework to carry the long finish and aftertaste; world class for a song.
