2021 Heggies Vineyard Single Block Reserve Chardonnay

Fermented and matured for 11 months in a combination of 55% French oak barriques (34% of which were new) and 45% ceramic wine eggs. Brilliant water like core with distinct highlights of green skirting the edges. Elevated nectarine, pear and grapefruit scents are complimented by citrus and gun flint notes. Light to mid weight, refreshing pear, lime and green apple fruits sit over a delicate stony mineral and gun flint infused back drop. Fine boned it finishes dry with crisp like acidity and an energetically elegant aftertaste.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.

Pale straw with the merest flash of green in the glass. Notes of juicy white peach and nectarine with a splash of grapefruit lift. Hints of cinnamon, nougat, white flowers, stone, struck flint, apple pastries and nicely judged French oak. Detailed and long with excellent clarity, sapid, lipsmacking acidity and pure, lightly oak-spiced stone and citrus fruits on the long, crystalline finish. Drink by 2026.
