2021 Domaine des Heritiers (Louis Jadot) Corton-Pougets Grand Cru
A wonderfully pure and equally cool nose grudgingly offers up its combination of red cherry, kirsch, crushed fennel, spice and a smoky hint. There is notably better volume and mid-palate density to the larger-bodied flavors that exude evident minerality on the tautly muscular, youthfully austere and more complex finale. As is usually the case, this is a combination of refinement and focused power that should age gracefully over the next 12 to 15 years. Drink through 2033+.
Allen Meadows - Burghound
Aromas of sweet red berries, plums, peonies and spices introduce the 2021 Corton-Pougets Grand Cru (Domaine des Héritiers Jadot), a medium to full-bodied, rich and ample wine with a deep core of fruit, sweet structuring tannins and a long, mouthwatering finish. This cuvée is always a strong suit chez Jadot, and this year is no exception.
William Kelley - Wine Advocate (Feb 01, 2023)
The 2021 Corton-Pougets Grand Cru has a wonderful bouquet with transparent red cherry, raspberry and floral notes. This wine is classy and seductive. The palate is medium-bodied with ripe tannins. It's lithe and agile in the mouth with a mineral undertow towards the finish. Often one of Jadot's classiest offerings, this Pougets is no different and one of their stars in 2021. Drink 2025 - 2045.
Neal Martin - Vinous
Lovely, ripe plum fruit aromas with notes of earth and smoke feature prominently on the nose of this firm, tannic wine with fresh acidity and abundant extract. The grapes come from a domaine-owned parcel at mid-slope next to Le Charlemagne. Jadot is the last producer to isolate this lieu-dit, which is often used for white wine. The structure and freshness of this wine demonstrate that it makes a very interesting red as well. Drink 2025 - 2045.
