2021 Dhillon Col Mountain Grenache
“Rocky, rugged vineyard about a hundred ks north of us”, says Michael Dhillon. The Col Mountain Vineyard is also used by Wild Duck Creek – the 2020 vintage allowed for rose and a table wine to be made. Here’s the second one.
Harmonious, just medium weight red wine with bright, red berry fruitiness, surprisingly gravelly tannin profile and lifting, rosy acidity. Sleek and long, finishes deep and with a flourish of cherry elixir, pleasingly tart and with a few more chomps of minerally tannin. A delight here. Drink 2022 - 2027.
