One of Tassie’s most loved and best value Pinot Noirs continues to deliver the goods vintage after vintage, this superb 2021 release no exception. Fruit was sourced from Dalrymple’s own vineyards at Pipers River and Coal River Valley along with a grower in Swansea.  Utilising a variety of blocks, different clones and slightly different aspects each of these sites made its own unique contribution to the final blend. The cooler northern maritime location at Pipers River produces Pinot Noir that is focused and structured, while the Coal River Valley in the south adds texture and softness to the mid-palate. Five to twenty five percent whole bunches were included depending on the site and maturation took place in French oak barriques (21% new) for a period of 12 months.

Rich, fleshy and expansive this displays all the hallmarks of great Pinot Noir.

Dark red in colour showing good depth with black shaded edges and a dark red hue. The very fragrant nose is lead by perfumed violet like scents which are trailed by dark cherries, strawberries and anise. Notions of forest floor, subtle fresh herbs and spicy cedar also chime in. Making a supple palate entry is a delicious mix of ripe red to dark cherry and strawberry fruits with anise, forest floor, delicate infusions of fresh herbs and spicy cedar forming a delicate underlay. Expansive and powerful with silky smooth tannins. The long moreish conclusion making this dangerously drinkable.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
