Sourced from vineyard blocks located between 610 and 760m altitude at the foothills of the Snowy Mountains. Each parcel underwent varying degrees of malolactic fermentation and were aged on lees in a mix of new and seasoned Allier and Vosges French oak.
Brilliant pale straw colour with highlights of green around the edges and a watery hue. Nectarine, grapefruit and citrus aromas infused with gun flint show terrific elevation out of the glass. Some dried honey and biscuity oak notes also chime in. Fresh and complex, the mid weighted palate serves up concentrated nectarine, grapefruit and citrus flavours over biscuity oak, delicate dried honey and infusions of smoky struck match stick. Finishes dry with vibrant acidity and a long flinty aftertaste that shows plenty of refinement. Trophy for Best Chardonnay at the 2022 Canberra and Region Wine Show.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
Alc. 12.9%

Other Reviews….
Tumbarumba chardonnay grown at between 610 and 750m metres above sea level.
Standout chardonnay. Piercing, long and complex. Grapefruit and florals, matchsticks and nectarine. There’s a keen flintiness here, a real drive, an impression that everything has been done sans compromise. There’s definitely a good deal of sulphide-funk here but the wine carries it with such authority. Drink 2023-2030+
