Aged in small French and American oak barrels for 15 months. Dense midnight black heart with a deep black dark red hue. Sailing out of the glass is a combination of blackberry, liquorice and black cherry fruits which are complimented by scorched earth, vanillin cedar, dried meats and blackpepper. Rich, fleshy blackberry and liquorice fruits are intermeshed with black cherry, scorched earth, vanillin cedar and peppered dried meat characters. Chewy yet opulent mouth feel with polished but sturdy tannins. Finishes long with a bounty of black fruit and pepper.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
Alc. 14%

Other Reviews…..
With 4% viognier. Matured in 70/15/% French/American oak, the remainder seeing no oak. Clever winemaking (and growing) has resulted in a beautiful wine to drink. Sweet plum and black cherry flavours come woven through with highly seductive roasted/woodsy spice notes. It kind of just 'has you at hello'. Cedar, toast, florals and black pepper notes all get a run in, the net effect delicious. You could cellar this but there's no need to. Drink by 2030.
