2021 Ciavolich Montepulciano d’Abruzzo

Inky black heart with a deep dark red black tinged hue. Pronounced black cherry and liquorice aromas rise from the glass followed by dried herb, vanillin earth and subtle spicy cinnamon notes. Rich, luscious black cherry and liquorice fruits drive the medium to full bodied palate which combines a fleshy textural feel with plenty of underlying freshness. Some just crushed blackberries, vanillin earth and spice characters ensue. Slightly chewy tannins and bright acidity lend an energetic feel to the amply fruited finish.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
