2021 Chalk Hill Blewitt Springs Syrah

Matured in new and used French oak for 14 months. Impenetrable inky black heart with a deep bright dark purple hue. Pronounced spicy dark plum and liquorice aromas are trailed by blueberry, faintly smoked vanillin cedar, fennel and peppered earth notes. Rich, plush dark plum, blackberry juice and liquorice flavours are underscored by a vein of lively acidity. Blueberry, vanillin cedar and peppered earth characters sit underneath. Slightly chalky tannins finishing with a youthful energy and deeply fruited aftertaste.
