2021 Caves d’Esclans Rock Angel Rose

Described as a more complex and structured style of Rose by the winery, the Rock Angel is produced from grapes primarily sourced from the vineyards of Chateau d’Esclans in addition to selected vineyards in the vicinity of the Esclans Valley and nearby in the Cotes de Provence region.
Translucent pale salmon pink colour. Aromas of peach, strawberry, blood orange and spice are followed by some stony notes. Quite full and round in the mouth, fleshy textured peach, strawberry and blood orange fruits overlay a wet stone back drop. Dry finish with edgy acidity and a nicely concentrated conclusion that has a touch of spice to it.

A very pure and incisive nose, with refined mineral chalkiness to the fresh strawberry and grapefruit aromas. Again, pure is the word to describe the linear, dry palate, which delivers crisp yet textured acidity, together with elegant, freshly chopped raspberries and strawberries.
