2021 Bird in Hand Syrah

Twenty percent whole bunch fermented and aged in French oak barrels for 16 months (20% new). Deep black dark red colour with a vibrant dark red hue. Fragrant dark plum, violet and liquorice aromas infused with clove blossom out of the glass followed by some smoked meats, vanillin cedar, earth and peppered dried herb notes. Mid weighted and generous, spicy plum and liquorice fruits are refined and fleshy in their feel. Dried clove, smoked meats and peppered earth characters are also evident. Bright finish with sturdy yet fine grained tannins. Concludes with lots of pepper and spice.
