2021 Babo Chianti DOCG

The winemaking for this Chianti takes two paths. The first parcel ferments as whole bunches (fully carbonic) and is raised in concrete vats for six months. A second ferment is de-stemmed and matured in concrete for eight months.
Deep dark red black shaded colour with a dark red hue. Aromas of spicy red currants infused with earth are trailed by some tobacco and dried herb notes. Medium bodied the palate features a mix of red currant and red cherry fruit over an earthy tobacco, dried herb and spice background. Fine grained, gently grippy tannins with bright acidity and a mid length conclusion that’s savoury and somewhat elegant.
Drink over the next 2-3 years.
