Magnificent colour featuring a super saturated inky black heart along with an equally deep black dark purple hue. Nosing draws out aromas of freshly crushed blackberries, liquorice and dark plum along with hints of violets, vanillin cedar, earth and pepper. Rich blackberry, liquorice and dark plum fruits flood the mouth underscored by ripe chewy tannins and fresh acidity. Tense inky finish with scorched earth, vanillin cedar and peppered fennel characters also evident. Muscular in its feel with a robust yet deeply fruited conclusion.
Cellar 6-8 years.
Alc. 14.5%

Other Reviews….
Shiraz sourced from Moppa in the northern Barossa, a small percentage of whole bunches, matured for 14 months in seasoned French oak hogsheads. Purple crimson in the glass and bursting at the seams with juicy plum, mulberry, boysenberry, baking spices, dark chocolate, cocoa powder, earth and orange blossom. A velvety, pure fruit flow with fine, gypsum-like tannins and a rich chocolatey sheen to the black fruits on the finish. Drink by 2032.
