2020 Yalumba The Cigar Cabernet Sauvignon

Midnight black dark red colour with a dark red hue. Nosing reveals uplifted scents of blackcurrant infused with black olive and cigar box followed by some earth and bay leaf notes. The refined mid weighted palate serves up blackcurrant, black olive and cigar box flavours over light dusty earth and bay leaf elements. Fine grained tannins with an elegant medium length conclusion.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.

It feels good, and it tastes good. Indeed it's one of the plusher expressions of cabernet that you'll encounter. Blackcurrant, black olive, spearmint and sweet, smoky, resiny cedar characters put on a lovely show here. Anise and tobacco notes complete the picture. You can't go wrong. Drink by 2034.

This is spiced and a little toasty with blackberries, ripe currants, hints of pine needles and eucalyptus. Full-bodied, firm and a little tight with chalky texture and an earthy character. Lingering, succulent finish. Drink or hold. Screw cap.
