2020 Water Wheel Bendigo Chardonnay

This Chardonnay was barrel fermented in French oak puncheons and demi-muid with extended lees contact and battonage to promote texture. Bright straw colour with green toned edges and a watery hue. Nosing reveals aromas of ripe peach, honeyed toast, bacon fat and spice. Rich and full with a luscious, fat like textural feel, the palate is layered with ripe peach, honeycomb and crème brulee flavours which overlay a bacon fat and spicy nougat back drop. Nicely balanced acidity for the short term with a generous creamy textured conclusion.
Drink over the next 2-3 years.
