Matured in French oak, 25% new. Totally opaque midnight black in colour with a deep dark red black tinged hue. Fragrant ripe red to black currant and plum scents intermix with cedary tobacco, subtle black olive and bay leaf notes. Rich blackcurrant and plum fruits sit over spicy vanillin cedar, tobacco and earthy bay leaf like characters. Fleshy mouth feel with a ripe yet sturdy tannin framework. Succulent medium to long conclusion.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
Alc. 13.5%

Other Reviews….
Fruit from Osmington (in the eastern wing of Margs), 20% whole bunches, wild ferment, pressed to French oak (30% new). Unfined, unfiltered, and – like all the wines from Walsh & Sons – super-charming, a bit rustic, and wildly attractive. Not yer average. So, to the wine: this has cassis, double cream, hung deli meat, Szechuan peppercorns, cooling, mineral acidity and chalky/graphite tannins. Lovely, gentle, persistent flavour through the finish reinforces the beauty of this wine. Drink by 2031.
