2020 Ventisquero Vertice La Robleria Vineyard Carmenere Syrah

This wine is a joint creation of Ventisquero winemaker Felipe Tosso and ex Penfolds winemaker John Duval. Impenetrable inky black heart with a deep dark red black hue. Carrying Carmenere’s trademark tobacco character the nose offers up blackcurrant, blackberry and liquorice scents which intermix with spicy cedar and a whiff of peppered capsicum like notes. Rich, full and seductive the palate is awash with spicy blackcurrant and liquorice fruits which overlay a tobacco, dried herb, graphite, dusty cedar and pepper back drop. Polished tannins finishing long and concentrated yet also refined.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
