2020 Ventisquero Queulat Gran Reserva Carmenere

Viña Ventisquero was founded in the late 1990’s by Gonzalo Vial and has quickly gone on to become one of the countries top wine producers. With a winery based in the coastal Maipo Valley the estate sources grapes from the prestigious Casablanca, Leyda, Colchagua and Apalta Valley regions.
Matured for 12 months in oak barrels. Totally opaque black dark red colour with a dark red hue. Elevated red to black currant aromas intermix with Carmenere’s trademark tobacco notes. Hints of liquorice, vanillin cedar and spicy dried herbs ensue. The elegant mid weighted palate is decorated with red currant and dark cherry fruits which meld into a back drop of vanillin cedar, spicy tobacco and dried herbs. Fine grained tannin structure concluding with a refined yet quite lengthy aftertaste.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.
