Partial whole bunch fermented with maturation taking place in seasoned French oak barriques for 9 months. Deep black dark red core with a dark red hue. Alluring dark raspberry, plum and liquorice aromas blossom from the glass followed by some scorched earth and peppered leather like notes. Rich and succulent the palate is awash with opulent dark raspberry, liquorice and dark plum fruits which show good weight and volume. Polished yet structured tannins with some vanillin cedar, subtle dried herb and peppered fennel characters extending through the long juicy finish.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.
Alc. 14.2%

Other Reviews….
The predecessor was quite possibly the finest GSM yet tasted on these shores, where the moniker is oft used. The generous percentage of mourvèdre (20%), the key to the firmly articulated latticework that transcends the jubey, soft norm. As Rhône-like as it gets. Grenache (55%), the kirsch, sandalwood and white pepper. Shiraz (25%), the florals and salumi. But there is far more to this: old vines, propitious siting and the confidence to extract with an MO of savoury complexity and strident tannins that ready one for the 5th glass rather than one sip ... before lights out. Drink by 2028.
