This Sauvignon Blanc is a blend from three specially selected vineyards in two different subregions of Marlborough. Two of the vineyards are in the upper Awatere Valley – Shamrock and Trelawne Farm - and the third is from Te Whare Ra’s certified organic home block in Renwick. Ten percent of the wine was barrel fermented in older French oak.
Brilliant water like core with a distinct glimmer of green around the outskirts. Intense passionfruit, gooseberry and green apple scents are interwoven with fresh asparagus and herbaceous grassy notes. Powerfully flavoured, the palate serves up passionfruit and ripe gooseberry over a snappy green apple and herbaceous grassy back drop. Finishes dry and crisp with mouth watering acidity. Flecks of mineral are threaded through the long aftertaste.
Drink over the next year.
Alc. 13.5%

Other Reviews….
The intensity and freshness here is hard to beat in this hotly contested category, and the intensity of peach, green-mango, lime and grapefruit flavors is impressive. Long, juicy and mouthwateringly fresh. Drink or hold. Screw cap.

A blend of fruit from two vineyards in the Upper Awatere (90%) and 10% estate fruit from the Wairau, Te Whare Ra's 2020 Sauvignon Blanc is a racy head-turner, balancing ripe, tropical notes and ample breadth on the palate with zesty citrus and herb shadings, bright acids and a long, refreshing finish. Drink 2021-2023.
