2020 Te Mata Estate Alma Pinot Noir

Matured in a mixture of new and seasoned French oak barriques for 11 months. A dark red core with black tinged edges shows good depth along with a dark red hue. Perfumed aromatics of violets, red cherries and strawberries are interwoven with sappy cedar, forest floor and spicy dried herb notes. Light and elegant yet powerful the palate is richly fruited with spicy red cherry and winter strawberry fruits. Notions of rhubarb, lightly toasted cedar and earthy dried herbs also chime in to provide further complexity. Fine grained tannins finishing savoury with good freshness and a long spicy red fruited aftertaste.
Drink over the next 6-8 years.
