2020 TarraWarra Estate Barbera

Deep dark red core with black shaded edges and a dark red hue. Spicy morello cherry and red liquorice aromas mix with earthy graphite, leather and peppered herb notes. Savoury red to dark cherry and red liquorice fruits are intermeshed with earth, dried herbs and spicy leather. Lively yet well integrated acidity and chewy tannins with a generously flavoured spicy mid length conclusion.
Drink over the next 3-4 years.

Made from 33yo vines. Fermented in foudre and matured in French barrels, 10% new. A deep, crimson plummy red. A convincing and appealing barbera from the start, with its aromas of dark morello cherry, fresh plum, sage and thyme. Totally delicious on the palate too. Ripe and rich, but not heavy, with fine-grained tannins rounding out a wine that can be enjoyed now and over the next 3–5 years. Would be fantastic with a bowl of pasta! Drink by 2027.
