2020 Sons of Eden Remus Old Vine Shiraz

Sourced from three different vineyards in the Eden Valley region with vines aged between 50 to 80 plus years old. Included in the fermentation process were up to 15% whole bunch clusters with maturation taking place in French oak hogsheads (60% new) for a period of 18 months.
Impenetrable inky black core with a deep dark red black hue. Intense dark plum, liquorice and black cherry scents infused with smoked meats, toasty vanillin cedar, earth and peppered dried herb notes sail through the nostrils. Rich and plush yet showing refinement, the full bodied palate is awash with spicy dark plum, liquorice and black cherry fruits which are underscored by clove, smoked meats, vanillin cedar, fennel and peppered earth characters. A sturdy yet fine grained tannin structure is mostly concealed by the layers of fruit. Concludes long, succulent and smoky.
Drink over the next 6-8 years.

A striking harmony of dried thyme, oregano and mace with sublime aromatic undertones of red fruit and liquorice. Rich and powerful with plenty of fleshy sweet fruit tumbling through to the long spicy finish. A great future ahead.
