2020 Sons of Eden Pumpa Cabernet Sauvignon

A blend of 86% Cabernet Sauvignon and 14% Shiraz matured for 12 months in a mix of new and seasoned hogsheads. Black as night at its core with a deep dark red black hue. Pronounced ripe blackcurrant aromas subtlety infused with tobacco and dried herbs are followed by smoky vanillin cedar and hints of spicy black olive. Medium to full in body, rich red to blackcurrant and mulberry fruits reign supreme over a cedary tobacco and spicy dried herb background. Sturdy yet fine grained tannin structure. Solid depth with a lengthy conclusion.

Striking black-fruit aromas, such as cherry and currant, on the nose here, as well as dark-stony elements, such as graphite. Dark herbs, too. The palate has a clever mix of power and smooth-honed tannins that are really ripe. Oak kicks up spice on the finish. Drink or hold. Screw cap.
