Growing up in Healesville, a young Rob Hall did some summer work in the vineyards during the early to mid nineties before taking up full time work at Yarra Ridge then Punt Road. From 2002 to 2011 he was the winemaker at Mount Mary, it wasn’t until 2014 that he took the leap and began his own operation.
The fruit for the 2020 Pinot Noir was sourced from three vineyards – Harriet’s, Boat O’Craigo and Willowlake with only 10% of the Harriet’s component being whole bunch. Maturation was predominantly in seasoned hogheads and puncheons (300 & 500L).

Silky smooth, expansive and long, this is a dangerously drinkable Yarra Valley Pinot.

Semi translucent dark red colour with black shaded edges and a light red hue. A fragrant mix of violet, ripe red cherry and strawberry scents float through the olfactory senses with ample volume followed by some anise, dried herb, forest floor and spicy cedar notes. Light and supple in its texture, the palate features a delicious flavour profile of red to dark cherry and strawberry fruits over infusions of fresh herbs, forest floor and spicy cedar. Possessing abundant power and silky smooth tannins it finishes long and expansive.
Drink over the next 3-4 years.
