Founded in 1974, Querciabella have received widespread critical acclaim for its wines which are located throughout Tuscany’s Chianti Classico and Maremma areas. The first vintage of Mongrana was produced in 2005 with fruit sourced from a range of vineyards located in the Tuscan coastal region of Maremma. All of the vineyards have been biodynamically grown since inception.
A blend of 50% Sangiovese, 25% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Sauvignon the wine is matured in a mixture of stainless steel tanks and cement.
Deep dark red core with black tinged edges and a vibrant dark red hue. Fragrant scents of red cherry and red currant intermix with hints of rose petals, subtle tobacco, earth and spicy dried herb notes. Delightful red currant and red cherry fruits adorn an elegant mid weighted palate with some earth, dried herbs and spicy tobacco characters lending further charm. Beautiful freshness and fine grained tannins finishing slightly dryish yet refined and very savoury.
Drink this Tuscan beauty over the next 4-5 years.
Alc. 13.5%
