2020 Port Phillip Estate Balnarring Pinot Noir

Balnarring is Port Phillip Estate’s second site which was purchased in 2007 but planted in 1997. The original plantings of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir were added to by a further paddock of high density planted Pinot Noir.
Matured in French oak barriques, 15% of which were new, for 11 months. Semi translucent bright red colour with black tinged edges and a light red hue. Fragrant violet, red cherry and strawberry scents leap out of the glass followed by forest floor, fresh herb and delicate spicy cedar notes. A light, fresh style of Pinot the palate features red cherry and winter strawberry fruits over spicy cedar, forest floor and dried herb characters. Polished tannins finishing bright with good power and an elegant aftertaste.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.
