2020 Podere Scopetone Rosso di Montalcino

Matured for 8 months in large Slavonian oak. Deep dark red core with black toned edges and a red to brick red hue. Delightful ripe red currant, red to dark cherry and subtle rose petal scents enchant the olfactory senses followed by some earth, dried herb, subtle tobacco and spice notes. Medium bodied, the very savoury palate is decorated with red currant and red cherry fruits which meld into a back drop of dried herbs, earth, tobacco and spice. Stern, broad shouldered tannins and energetic acidity provide the framework. Concludes long, elegant and slightly rustic.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.
