After leaving his family domaine in 2005, Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey has established himself as one of the rising stars of Burgundy. Pierre-Yves has built a strong reputation for crafting exquisite white Burgundy that display energy and vitality. The white wines are whole bunch pressed, fermented with natural yeasts, aged on lees for up to 18 months in mostly in 350 litre barrels with no lees stirring and no filtration. The corks used come from one tiny supplier and are extra long and extra wide (55mm x 25mm) for the village, 1er cru and Grand cru wines and are untreated with no paraffin and the bottles are then sealed with soft wax to ensure no problems with premature oxidation. The resulting wines are built to age classically up to 10 years or more.

Other Reviews....
The 2020 Saint-Aubin 1er Cru La Chatenière is very promising, wafting from the glass with aromas of green orchard fruit, freshly baked bread, citrus zest, white toast, pastry cream and gunflint. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and enveloping, its pretty core of fruit is girdled by bright acids and chalky structuring extract.

William Kelley - Wine Advocate (Jan 2022)

Mid lemon colour while the nose stands out with an extra nobility on top of Champlots. Powerful white fruit with a little lemon touch, opulent but balanced, some attractive flesh at the finish and very good length. Fine fresh tingle of youthful acidity at the finish.

Jasper Morris - Inside Burgundy

Aromas of ripe pears and acacia blossom. There is a rich, waxy buttery quality on the palate and plenty of depth. This wine has the concentration and charm of Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey's more famous crus at a much more accessible price. The south-facing slopes that line the left side of the road to Chagny provide a climate that ripens fruit well – this is essentially a continuation of En Remilly. In 2020, the ripeness was perfectly correct, with an alcohol of approximately 12.5%. Drinking Window 2025 - 2040.
