Red fruits framed by assertive tannins and lively acidity with a tense grippy feel to the rustic finish.

Dark red core with black toned edges and a rusty red hue. Fragrant rose petal, dried cherry and red liquorice aromas are trailed by some earthy leather, dried herb and spicy tobacco notes. A mix of red cherry, dried cherry and red liquorice fruits are sternly framed by assertive tannins. Earth, tobacco, dried herbs and spice linger underneath. Tense grippy feel and lively acidity with an earthy rusticity to the finish that shows plenty of tannic presence.

Dark ruby in color, the 2020 Barolo Valente is introspective on opening, with notes of blackberries, black licorice, menthol, and graphite. Although it’s medium-bodied, it has a brooding and earth-toned profile on the palate, with ripe tannins and an earthy finish. It is going to show at its best over the coming 8-10 years. Drink 2024-2034.
