2020 Pauletts Clare Valley Shiraz
A rich, lush Clare Shiraz with a long juicy blackpepper laced finish.
Midnight black heart with a deep dark red black tinged hue. Dark plum, liquorice and black cherry scents infused with black olive are trailed by some earth and peppered smoked meat notes. Rich lush dark plum, dark to black cherry and liquorice fruits flood the palate with vanillin cedar and peppered meat elements the undercard. Slightly chewy tannins with a long juicy blackpepper laced finish.
Drink over the next 3-4 years.
Alc. 14.5%
Other Reviews….
SHZ, aka shiraz, from Clare Valley. The 'no vowels on wine labels' for grape varieties thing is catching on in Aus. Anyways, here we have heartland stuff of choc-berry, cocoa powder, black olive and sweet earthiness with whiffs of mint in the bouquet. Flavours carry on these characters, with ripe plum, brined black olives, mint, dark chocolate and sooty spices. It's mellow, well balanced and very smooth. Well played.
