2020 Mr Riggs Yacca Paddock Tempranillo

The Yaddock Paddock vineyard is located in the Kuitpo sub-region of the Adelaide Hills. Planted in 2000, its higher elevation and consistent cooling breezes ensures healthy canopies and allows the vines to avoid the extreme Summer temperatures. Maturation took place in French oak of which 33% was new.
Pitch black in colour with a deep bright dark red black tinged hue. Flowing from the glass are pronounced black cherry and liquorice aromatics which are trailed by earthy vanillin cedar, subtle leather and spice notes. Ripe, juicy black cherry and liquorice fruits display impressive intensity underscored by a chewy tannin structure that lends a robust feel to the back half. Elements of vanillin cedar, earth, traces of new leather and spice lie beneath the lush layers of fruit. Possessing bright acidity and solid power it finishes with a long, slightly firmish aftertaste.
