Inky black at its core with a deep dark red black hue. Intense dark plum, liquorice and black cherry aromas fill the nostrils with trailing vanillin cedar, earth and spice notes. Rich with a robust feel, spicy dark plum, black cherry and liquorice fruits flood the mouth with some earthy graphite, vanillin cedar and pepper characters lying underneath. Bright acidity and rustic tannins form a sturdy frame. Tightly wound finish.

Other Reviews….
Anyone wondering about the potential of the montepulciano grape in this country need wonder no more. It's in good hands. Ben Riggs combines some Aus-Italian sensibility here, promoting the grape's noteworthy tannin:acid profile with some stellar fruit intensity. Red plums, cherry and dried herbs aplenty, with warm and earthy savoury notes to complete the picture. Goes down very easily. Drink by 2028.
