2020 Mas des Volques Esus

Dense black as night core with a dark red black tinged hue. Pepper infused aromas of blackberry and liquorice intermingle with some earthy graphite like notes, dried herb and spicy dried meat scents. Rich, fleshy textured blackberry, liquorice and dark plum fruits overlay dried meat, earth and peppered herb elements. Ripe, slightly chewy mouth feel with polished yet sturdy tannins. Concludes plush and juicy.
Drink over the next 3-4 years.

As to the reds, the 2020 Duche D'Uzes Esus is also pretty and elegant, which is very much in the style of the vintage. Offering notes of black raspberries, violets, and flowers, it has good ripeness, medium body, fine tannins, and outstanding length.
