2020 Mandala Fume Blanc

Matured for 8 months on lees in barrel with occasional stirring. Bright pale straw colour with greenish tinged edges and a watery hue. Smoky gooseberry and citrus scents mix with asparagus and herbaceous grassy notes. Textured ripe gooseberry and citrus fruits meld into smoked asparagus and herbaceous grassy characters. Finishes dry with crisp acidity and a lively aftertaste.
Drink over the next 1-2 years.

The inaugural release, made from hand-picked fruit, whole clusters pressed to old oak, wild fermented and aged 9 months. It's a really good outcome. Cunchy citrusy flavours, passionfruit pith, pine needle and basil coolness are matched to a more textural palate. Plenty of acidity ensures a delicious drink right now. Drink by 2023.
