2020 M. Chapoutier Bila-Haut Cotes du Roussillon Blanc

Made from a blend of Grenache Blanc, Grenache Gris and Macabeu. Bright pale straw colour with a greenish tinged outskirts and watery hue. Aromas of peach and apricot mix with hints of bees wax, toast and spice. Rich pear, peach and apricot flavours are to the fore arming the palate with good textural volume. Notions of honeysuckle and smoky flint like characters lie underneath. Finishes dry with a lick of fresh acidity on the lime and mineral laced mid length finish.
Drink over the next 2-3 years.

Based largely on Grenache Blanc, with 20% Roussanne and 10% each of Grenache Gris and Macabeu, the 2020 Côtes Du Roussillon Bila Haut Blanc offers up a terrific sense of minerality as well as notes of ripe pear, melon, and crushed citrus. It’s fresh and elegant, with bright acidity and outstanding length.
