Louis-Benoit Desvignes and his sister Claude-Emmanuelle Desvignes today run this historic estate in Morgon. This 13-hectare domaine produces some of the longest-lived and most serious wines in the Beaujolais. Old vines, organically farmed and harvested late, produce grapes that see traditional winemaking with whole clusters, long macerations and a submerged cap. The result is a range of inky, saturated reds with plenty of character and structure, and the top cuvées will have no trouble evolving for two decades.

Other Reviews....
Another new cuvée, from within Javernières, debuts with the 2020 Morgon Côte du Py Javernières Aux Pierres, a magical wine that unwinds in the glass with aromas of wild blueberries, orange rind, blackberry, bay leaf, warm spices and loamy soil. Medium to full-bodied, deep and multidimensional, it's layered and velvety, with incredible concentration, lively balancing acids and a long, resonant finish. Drink 2023 - 2040.
